The Boylston Hotel Capitol Hill, Sonder stands out as a modern, clean, and well-maintained lodging option nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Seattle’s Capitol Hill. Guests often highlight the hotel's thoughtfully designed rooms—compact yet efficient—featuring cozy beds, reliable air conditioning, and easy-to-use amenities like free Wi-Fi and functioning TVs. The absence of extras such as breakfast, parking, or a business center is balanced by a focus on essentials, making it a no-nonsense choice for visitors prioritizing location and tranquility.

Location is undeniably a strong suit for The Boylston. It immerses guests in Seattle’s energetic culture, close to hip coffee roasters, lively LGBTQ+ bars, indie shops, and the green expanse of Cal Anderson Park. This makes it perfect for those who want to tap into the city’s pulse on foot. Public transportation is conveniently nearby, and the diversity of nearby restaurants satisfies a broad range of tastes, enriching the overall stay experience.

The hotel’s minimalist approach to facilities invites guests to experience Capitol Hill rather than stay sealed off in the property. While some critique the lack of a dedicated workspace and elevator access, these factors reflect the hotel’s boutique character and urban setting. It’s especially suited for solo travelers or couples who value quiet, clean rooms and appreciate thoughtful design over spaciousness. The filtered water stations on each floor also speak to a considerate guest experience.

One senses a blend of comfort and urban authenticity here. The firmness of the bed and occasional noise hints at the city life outside the windows but never overwhelms. The quiet upkeep, without unnecessary frills, creates a humble yet welcoming refuge amid Capitol Hill’s buzzing streets.

In summary, The Boylston Hotel Capitol Hill, Sonder is best for travelers who seek a clean, serene base with excellent access to Seattle’s cultural and social hotspots. It embodies an understated charm with practical appeal—making each stay both easy and memorable.

I had a great stay at the Boylston Hotel. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable. Yes, it’s on the smaller side, but it’s well designed and has everything you need. The bed was cozy, the TV worked perfectly, and the AC kept the room nice and cool. The property was well maintained and quiet. Overall, a really pleasant stay — highly recommend!

A little pricy (to be expected for Seattle) but solid location and clean rooms. Nice check out time and convenient luggage locker for when your flight or secondary plans are later and you don’t want to carry your luggage around. My only "negative" feedback would be that I wish there was a desk in my room to do work out. They do have a lounge but it would have been nice to have a private work space.

Great location. Near excellent restaurants. Good value. I booked a slightly “better” higher floor room and it was quiet. I could imagine that some of the rooms are noisy because of the neighborhood/proximity to bars, etc. Super clean, comfortable bed. Filtered water stations on each floor. Obviously as mentioned when booking, there’s no elevator so definitely don’t book with reduced mobility. I took off one star as I got really hot at night even though I had the thermostat low. They have a window/portable AC unit that helped but somehow couldn’t keep it cool enough. I wanted to crack the window as temperatures were cool outside. But they don’t open. I visited during October with cool weather but the heat was too high for me in the building. Small rooms, but who cares as you’re in the very heart of the city. (Not downtown, but the actual vibrant part.) But no desk for working in the room, but they have a shared lobby type space with tables.

The room is small, with a shower right in at the entrance. There’s no ice, and depending on time of arrival/departure possibly no one to load luggage into the dumbwaiter. Bed is very firm. Having said that, the neighborhood can’t be beat for convenience to public transit, restaurants and nightlife. I was comfortable and the room was fine for a solo person. I’d explore other options without stairs, but I would definitely stay here again for the price and convenience.
